This page has been revamped to display some the many videos that are being sent to the web site. While they are not 49th FS related, they are interesting and in some cases unique. Videos of a historic nature will be kept as long as the link is “live.”

“My first job after college in 1950 was at Consolidated (later General Dynamics) in Ft Worth. I worked on the nose radar, right behind the nose wheel. Brings back old memories. This airplane was really big. It had six of the largest Recip engines plus four jet engines. One of these sat on Amon Carter Airfield up at the north end of Hwy 360. And, yes, it is James Stewart riding in the Jump seat – He flew bombing missions during WWII – He retired a General. I really liked him. (WM note the above James Stewart is the OTHER Jim Stewart)”

“This is one of the better done videos showing most of the WW II (plus some later) planes. Along with the scenes with the restored aircraft are action shots of the aircraft in action.”

“Some of you probably have seen this 24 minute video on the P-38. If you ever flew the P-38, or wish you had flown the P-38, or are just interested in learning more about the P-38, sit back and enjoy while flying around in “The Lightning”…”
